Protecting your card when shopping online

Safe online shopping

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode helps protect your card against unauthorised use when you shop online by requesting a One Time Passcode on certain transactions.

How it works

  1. 01

Shop online as usual and visit the checkout.

  2. 02

    Enter your card details.

  3. 03
If the website uses 'Verified by Visa' or 'MasterCard SecureCode', a message may tell you that the bank or organisation that issued your card is asking for a One Time Passcode.
  4. 04

Select whether you wish this passcode to be sent to your mobile, email address or using a voice message to your landline and we'll send the passcode to you.

  5. 05

Enter the passcode on the website, click 'Submit' and your identity is confirmed.

  6. The One Time Passcode is specific to the current transaction and is valid for 8 minutes from the time that it's sent to you.

Please keep your contact details with us up to date, so if verification is requested we can quickly send you a One Time Passcode.
