A smart and safe way to pay.

Get more control with a virtual card

Available to existing holders of eligible current accounts who are registered for mobile banking and biometrics. Maximum 2 active virtual debit cards per account.

What is a virtual debit card?

A virtual debit card is a digital card that you can create and manage using our mobile app. Each card has its own unique details, offering a secure alternative to carrying a physical card.

You can use your virtual card for online shopping, over the phone or to make contactless payments. It's linked to your account, just like your physical card, so payments will be debited from your balance.

To create a virtual card using our mobile app, you must have one of the following accounts and be registered for the app's biometric approval feature:

  • Gold account
  • Select account
  • Student account

Benefits of using a virtual card

Get more control and security

If you see a payment you don’t recognise, cancel and create a new virtual debit card. You can keep using your physical card as normal.

Organise your spending

Budget better by giving your virtual debit cards a purpose like paying bills or travel and separate your spending across multiple debit cards.

Personalise your cards

Create your own card label or choose from a list of our suggestions like eating out and groceries. Change this anytime in your app.
