Debit cards

Look out for the logo on your card; you can use your debit card to pay for goods and services where you see that logo displayed. And you can use it for cashback as well.

Take your card abroad with you and there's no need to carry large amounts of cash. In fact, you can use your card to pay for goods and services, and withdraw cash at cash machines, at millions of places across the world.

You can make secure online payments with your debit card. For extra security, you can register your card with Isle of Man Bank Secure. This lets you select your own personal password for the card, ensuring that only you can make online purchases with it.

• online - simply log in to your online banking service, select 'Account admin' from the main menu, then from the 'Activate debit card' section click on 'Activate debit card' and follow the onscreen instructions. If you are not registered for Online banking, why not sign up today.
• over the phone – one of our Telephony agents will activate your debit card for you.
• by post – please return the card activation slip you received with your debit card.
• in branch – please hand in the card activation slip at your local branch.

If you are receiving a replacement debit card you will not need to activate it unless you are also receiving a replacement PIN.
