Need cash and lost your Visa debit card?

Even without your card you can still get access to the money in your account by using our 24 hour Emergency Cash service.



If your Visa debit card is lost or stolen you can still get money from a RBS Group cash machine in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland or Gibraltar. RBS Group includes:

  • NatWest
  • RBS
  • RBS International
  • Isle of Man Bank
  • Ulster Bank

You can access up to £300 if you are an Online or Telephone banking customer or up to £40 if you're not. You’ll need to have a minimum of £20 in your account to use this service.

There is no charge for using this service.

How do I ask for Emergency Cash?

There's no need to register. Simply call our Lost & Stolen Helpline on 01534 620050 to report your card lost or stolen and ask for an Emergency Cash code.

All you have to do is answer a few quick security questions; we’ll then give you a security code that will allow you to withdraw your money. The security code is valid for three hours.

Q. How much Emergency Cash can I withdraw?

A. Customer’s registered with Telephone banking can draw up to £300 following successful partial PIN & Password identification. Customers not registered can draw up to £40.


Q. Can I use my Emergency Cash code at any cash machine?

A. No, the code will only work at a NatWest, RBS, RBS International, Isle of Man Bank or Ulster Bank cash machine in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland or Gibraltar.


Q. If I need Emergency Cash while I’m abroad, can I use another cash machine?

A. No, Emergency Cash is only available in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland or Gibraltar.
